When uncertainty becomes a liability.
Too much complexity. Too little evidence. Too many opinions. Yet someone still has to sign. We turn uncertainty into evidence, defensible decisions and controlled action across ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434 and Automotive SPICE, before an assessor, a customer or a field failure forces the question.
Our expertise has left a lasting impact on industry-leading ecosystems, through direct collaborations or key strategic partnerships with:

The questions nobody wants to answer in the steering committee.
If you recognise one of these, the problem is already on your critical path.
“Who signs this off if the analysis is incomplete?”Safety decisions need a named owner and a defensible technical basis. We build the basis so the decision does not rest on trust alone.
“Will the assessor accept what we have?”Assessors read work products, not intentions. We test your evidence the way an assessor will, before they do.
“Is our safety argument consistent with our security argument?”A cybersecurity weakness can invalidate a safety goal. Disconnected documents hide that.
“What happens to the SOP if the architecture is not ready?”Late architecture changes ripple through requirements, tests and supplier contracts.
“Did the supplier’s SEooC really fit our context?”An out-of-context element is only safe within its assumed context. Unchecked assumptions become your risk.
“Is our engineering service provider really delivering the safety work products?”Outsourced safety and security work can fail quietly: deliverables exist, evidence does not. We assess what was delivered and close the gap before the gate.
“Do we have a task force, or do we have a problem?”Escalations need hands-on engineers, not another status report.
Not sure if your system is ready?
Tick what is true today. This is an indicator for discussion, not an assessment.
Real problems. Real engineering evidence.
See how complex engineering problems were assessed, challenged and turned into actionable decisions. No theoretical case studies. No generic methodology. Real engineering work.
Capacity is limited. Every Gate is led by a senior principal engineer, so only a small number can run in parallel. Contact us to check current availability.
From emergency intervention to long-term capability.
Consulting
High-stakes expert and management consulting built for moments of critical uncertainty. We step into fractured project environments to remove internal inertia, resolve severe escalations and deliver tactical direction before risks turn into corporate crises.
We don’t just hand over a checklist of recommendations. Diagonal Technologies deploys dedicated, cost-effective engineering squads to execute our safety and cybersecurity blueprints inside your project lifecycle, with full operational accountability.
Interactive workshops and simulation exercises that turn compliance theory into practical skills. We train your teams to overcome decision paralysis, master industrial standards and build a culture of engineering certainty.
After high-level escalations, we have led task forces that took over failing safety and cybersecurity workstreams. We assess what is actually happening, identify what matters and give you a path forward.

Frequently asked questions
What is ISO 26262?
ISO 26262 is the functional safety standard for electrical and electronic systems in road vehicles. It defines the safety lifecycle, ASIL-based risk classification and the work products needed to argue that a system is acceptably safe.
What is ISO/SAE 21434?
ISO/SAE 21434 defines cybersecurity engineering for road vehicles, including threat analysis and risk assessment (TARA), cybersecurity goals and requirements across the lifecycle. It supports evidence for UNECE R155.
What is Automotive SPICE used for?
Automotive SPICE is a process assessment model that OEMs use to judge supplier capability in system and software engineering. Results depend on documented, consistent and traceable work products.
How are functional safety and cybersecurity related?
They share architecture, interfaces and verification evidence. A security weakness can violate a safety goal, so both disciplines need one consistent technical argument.
What is a Safety Gate Sprint?
A fixed-scope, fixed-price assessment of 10 to 15 days that ends in an executive decision pack stating whether the architecture is ready for its next safety gate.
What should we do when an assessment finding blocks a milestone?
Establish the root cause, rebuild the missing evidence chain and assign an owner to each open item. Diagonal Technologies provides rapid intervention teams for this situation.
Describe the problem. You get a concrete next step.
Name the standard, what is blocked and the date of your next milestone. A short description is enough.
